Hanky Collar Dress

Hanky Collar Dress Hanky Collar Dress
  1. Cut out dress yokes and yoke linings. If dress has a wrap-around yoke, extend 1/4" at back so there will be a seam up back of yokes.

  2. Stitch shoulder seams of yoke and yoke lining.

  3. Mark center front of dress. Mark where you want the center front of the hanky to be.

  4. Lay hanky on right side of dress yoke matching the center front line of the yoke to the center of the hanky. If hanky is wider than front yoke, make a little box pleat at center front. Hanky falls into V's in back. Pin in place.

  5. Trim away hanky at neckline of dress so it is the same as the dress. Cut away excess hanky at back edges.

  6. Place dress yoke lining on top of yoke with right sides together and hanky collar sandwiched in between. Pin in place at neckline. Stitch up the back, around the neckline, and down the other back. Trim seam. Turn to right side. Press well.
