- This dress uses the slimmer View A version. I made it using two compatible Liberty of London fabrics. It could also be made with a plaid, stripe or gingham at the top and a floral skirt or the reverse.
- Make a tissue paper copy of the dress front and dress back. Measure 1-2” (depending on size) below the armhole on side seam and mark. Draw a horizontal line across dress front and back at this mark. Cut on line.
- Add a 1/4” seam allowance to dress yoke and a 1/4” seam allowance to dress skirt. Cut out front and back yokes from one fabric and front and back skirts from another fabric.
- Stitch yoke to skirt making a plain seam and press seam down. Place a decorative ribbon (I made mine using grosgrain ribbon and a decorative machine stitch.) Topstitch ribbon over seam line using a edge stitch foot.
- Place dress front and dress back on lining fabric with right sides together. Pin in place. Cut out front and back lining. From this point follow construction instructions in pattern.
